Welcome to Room 41! This will be my third year teaching second grade at Sheridan Terrace. I will be teaching all areas of ELA for Rooms 39 and 41. I am so happy to be a part of the Sheridan Terrace family! Before coming to Sheridan, I was a first grade teacher at Hahntown Elementary for 2 years and a first grade teacher at Stewartsville Elementary for 2 years. Before becoming a classroom teacher, I was the reading specialist at Sunset Valley Elementary and Stewartsville Elementary for 11 1/2 years. I am a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, where I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Athletic Training. I also have my master's degree from CAL in Elementary Education. During this time, I also received my certification as a Reading Specialist.
My husband, Chad, and I live in the Norwin community with our 2 children, Tyler and Avery, an English bulldog named Bella, and a Chihuahua named Daisy. When I am not at school, you may see me on the soccer fields or volleyball court watching Tyler play. I am also a Girl Scout leader for Avery. I enjoy watching her dance, sing, and perform on the stage, too. Avery is also a member of the Norwin Middle School Guard. I enjoy the beach, camping, and hiking. Those of you that know me, know that I always have a cup of coffee in my hand! I enjoy shopping and reading if I ever get a free moment!
I can't wait to find out about your child's interests. It is so exciting to see a child's growth emotionally, socially, and academically during just one year of schooling. I look forward to meeting your child and the year ahead!
