Transition Night at Sheridan Terrace - May 1, 2024 6-7:30 PM

We are pleased to invite you to one of our most popular annual events - Transition Night: Making a Smooth Move to the Next Grade. This event provides you with the opportunity to meet with classroom teachers to learn more about what the next school year will look like for your child. Year after year, families have expressed how beneficial this event has been in helping them understand the expectations for their child as they move to the next grade level.

This year the event will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 6:00PM-7:30PM at Sheridan Terrace Elementary School. Children are welcome to come and can choose to either stay with their parents/guardians for the presentation or attend a FREE Fit Kids Activity in the gym while their parents/guardians attend the presentation with the classroom teachers.

You can sign-up for this event by clicking on the link below to complete the sign-up form or completing the paper copy of the form that was sent home to you. Norwin Library Summer Reading 2024

The Norwin High School Student Council will be hosting their annual Candy Cane Castle on Saturday, December 10th from 9 AM - Noon. Tickets are $10.00 per person, kids 2 and under are free.

Night With The Young Knights - Thursday, November 10, 2022 - 6:30 PM

The first Night with the Young Knights will be Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 6:30 PM.

If your child will be entering Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year, you and your Young Knight are encouraged to attend our Young Knight sessions. This will be the final Night with the Young Knights session. Tours will begin at 6 pm and the program begins at 6:30 pm.

Halloween Parade information for grades 1-4, PM Kdg. and Full Day Kdg. 2022

The Halloween parade for grades 1-4, full day Kdg., and PM Kdg. will begin at 1:30 PM. The students and staff will walk around the school, primarily on the sidewalk. The parties will immediately follow the parade. PM Kdg. students should wear their costumes to school. All other students will change prior to the parade. Only those PTA volunteers who were selected for the Halloween party, will be available to help in the classrooms.
All PTA volunteers are to bring their updated SafeKids badge and ID with them, there will be no exceptions.
We ask that all students go home at the regular time and their regular mode of transportation.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON MORRIS AVENUE.

AM Kdg. Halloween Parade Information 2022

AM Kdg. Halloween parties will be held on Monday, October 31st from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM with a parade in the front of the school beginning at 11:30 AM. In case of bad weather, the parade will be cancelled. AM Kdg. students may wear their costumes to school. Please click on the headline to view the AM Kdg. letter that went home with students.
PARTY PARENTS MUST HAVE THEIR SAFEKIDS BADGE AND THEIR LICENSE WHEN THEY COME IN TO VOLUNTEER.

Summer Activities Leading into Kindergarten

Attached are daily Kindergarten readiness activities that begins with June 1st. Help your child get a jump start for Kindergarten!

Holiday Fun Fair and Holiday Sing-a-long

Sheridan Terrace will be hosting the annual holiday fun fair on Thursday, December 19th. Each year through generous monetary donations from our Sheridan Terrace families, we are able to donate to the Irwin Food Bank. As students turn in their donations, they will receive an ornament from their homeroom teacher that they will decorate and place on the office tree.

Our annual holiday sing-a-long (for students and staff only) will be held on Monday, December 16th, and will once again be available for parents and relatives to stream live. Please click on the link below. The program will begin at approximately 2:00 PM. https://youtu.be/sXFjb7jJkTw

McTeacher Knight - Thursday, October 3rd 4-7 PM

Have dinner with your family and your friends from Sheridan Terrace and see your favorite teachers working behind the counter. The classroom with the most participation will receive a free Happy Meal lunch together. Click on the title link above to see the teachers and their scheduled times. Please remember to fill out the attached flyer and bring it with you to ensure your classroom receives credit.

Kennywood ticket sales and bus information

There will be a Kennywood community ticket sale on Tuesday, May 21st from 5-7 PM at Hillcrest Intermediate School. The cost is $28.00 per ticket and it is cash only. The Norwin Kennywood picnic is Tuesday, May 28th. The district will provide two buses on May 28th to Kennywood, for students who need transportation. One bus will depart from the Middle School and the other from Stewartsville, both leaving at 10:30 in the morning.
